A man was recently arrested after trying to rob the Orleans hotel and casino. All in all that isn't too weird, but the details make this one of the odder stories I've ever heard of. The man claimed he was trying to get enough money to bail his girlfriend out of jail. Pretty dumb thing to do. Even dumber if you consider the man could have called a Las Vegas bail bondsman and would have only been responsible for the bail bondsman fees. He wouldn't have had to come up with the full bail amount. The question now is, who is going to bail him out?

Vince Neil, former lead singer for Motley Crue, just posted his own Las Vegas bail after being arrested for suspicion of DUI. After leaving the Las Vegas Hilton on 6/28/10, he was pulled over after police officers spotted his Lamborghini near the Las Vegas Strip. They administered a field sobriety test and then arrested the 49-year-old VH1 reality star. He was booked into Clark County Detention Center just before midnight. Posting bail without a Las Vegas bail bondsman's help probably did little to keep the rocker out of the limelight. Although, attempts were made to keep the arrest from being in the spot light, you can bet everyone in Las Vegas will be watching the case.

Retrieving bail bond jumpers is never a fun thing for bail bonds agents. It is dangerous, time consuming and expensive. And sometimes it goes bad in a big way.

Crime rose last year in metropolitan Las Vegas; Bail Bonds business to see a spike? The FBI just released their 2009 crime statistics for the Las Vegas area. Overall violent crimes increased last year in the area. North Las Vegas and Henderson saw increases in robberies. Some speculate that is due to the protracted economic slump. However, murders in Las Vegas actually dropped. Other bright spots include a drop in rapes in Henderson and a drop of almost 500 auto thefts in North Las Vegas.

The personal doctor for the late Michael Jackson has had another blow to his reputation and career. Dr. Murray, who worked and resided in Las Vegas, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the pop star's death. As a condition of his $75,000 bail the doctor is not supposed to prescribe any anesthetic drugs. Even though the arrest and bail were in CA, not related to Nevada or Las Vegas bail bonds , the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners made it official last Thursday. They banned the doctor from prescribing or administering strong sedatives.

After a 2007 arrest for drugs and drunk driving, Lindsay Lohan was ordered by the court to wear an alcohol monitoring device. The star of "Parent Trap". After missing a probation hearing for the same crimes, Lohan had to post a $100,000 bail. After the alcohol monitoring device went off, Lohan had an arrest warrant issued and her bail was subsequently increased to $200,000. As a movie star, she has ample financial resources and did not have to use a bail bond. She simply paid the $200,000 bail and remained free.

Seems as though Dipak Desai has no need for Las Vegas bail bonds. The former doctor posted a $1 million bail himself after being arrested on 28 felony counts relating to the infamous hepatitis scare that panicked Las Vegas a couple of years ago. Desai and two of his associates from the Las Vegas Valley endoscopy clinic were indicted for their role in allegedly reusing needles on endoscopy patients. Prosecutors say that reuse of syringes caused a hepatitis outbreak and made many more Las Vegas patients fear they may have contracted AIDS or other diseases.

The ironic part of the story is that Dipak Desai posted the $1 million dollar bail with a cashier's check. Essentially he paid cash. However, Desai's attorney, informed the presiding judge that the former doctor and his businesses are in bankruptcy proceedings. So as Desai's butts and guts practice goes belly up, he somehow found a way to produce $1 million? I'll bet the former patients would like to know where he had the money stashed.

The Las Vegas Justice of The Peace 3 election is getting interesting. Incumbent Tony Abbatangelo is having his track record on bail called into question by the other candidates.

The infamous Suge Knight, former rap music producer mogul and multiple arrestee, was again arrested by LAPD for alleged assault with a deadly weapon.

North Las Vegas resident, Bobby Dale Richards, was recently arrested for allegedly beating his wife to death with a baseball bat. A North Las Vegas court set his bail at $1 million.
