It seems as though there has been a lot of news this year about bail bondsmen ending up on the wrong side of the law. Along those same lines, we came across an interesting bit of news in which a couple of Honolulu police officers were recently arrested in Las Vegas. Imagine having to call a Las Vegas bail bondsman as a police officer that has been arrested? A police officer having to get Las Vegas bail bonds is awkward to say the least.
Kevin Fujioka and Shayne Souza, both Hawaiian police officers, were arrested last month near the Las Vegas Strip on charges of marijuana, drinking & driving and obstructing a public officer. The pair of law enforcement officials were in Las Vegas attending a Softball tournament. Apparently the pair were doing more than swinging a bat or fielding ground balls while in Sin City.
Kevin Fujioka was arrested and found guilty of the two misdemeanor charges and ordered to pay $580 in fines and fees. A felony charge of driving under the influence against Fujioka was dismissed because it conflicted with the misdemeanor DUI charge. Shayne Souza plead guilty to obstructing a police officer but had misdemeanor marijuana possession charges dropped. This incident just goes to show that you never know who could someday need the help of a Las Vegas bail bondsman. Just hope it isn’t you. But if you do, you can rest assured that there are professionals waiting to help you.
