Once again, earlier this year a rich and famous athlete found themsleves in trouble with the law. NFL star Warren Sapp, who previously played for the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was arrested for allegedly beating a woman during Super Bowl weekend in Miami this year. The arrest stemmed from an incident in which the woman claimed to have been abused while staying in Mr. Sapp's hotel room.
After being arrested, Warren Sapp posted a Miami bail and was released from custody. Fortunately for Warren Sapp, after some investigation the Florida State Attorney's Office just announced that "the State cannot file charges ... due to the totality of the evidence and inconsistencies with the victim testimony and the physical evidence gathered during the investigation."
Seems as though Mr. Sapp, will collect his Miami bail money and try to move on. However, this is an ugly reminder that bad things seem to follow professional athletes like a bad rash.
